Biography

A Career Built on Expertise & Service

Dr. Scott D. Coon has been a cornerstone of chiropractic care in Fairport, New York for over three decades. A graduate of Northeast College of Health Sciences (1994) with a post-doctorate in Chiropractic Neurology from Cleveland University, he has dedicated his career to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care to families across the greater Rochester community.

What distinguishes Dr. Coon from most practitioners is his dual role as both a clinician and an academic. Since 2025, he has served as an Associate Professor in the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Northeast College of Health Sciences in Seneca Falls, NY — teaching courses in myofascial therapy, spinal management, extremity care, and practice management, among others. Prior to that, he spent nearly two decades as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York Chiropractic College.

In 2024, Dr. Coon was honored with the Northeast College of Health Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award — a recognition of his commitment to mentoring the next generation of chiropractors. He was also recognized for Outstanding Service to Admissions Efforts that same year.

Academic Role

Northeast College of Health Sciences

Northeast College of Health Sciences (NCHS) in Seneca Falls, NY is one of the nation's leading institutions for chiropractic education. Since 2015, Dr. Coon has served as an Associate Professor in the Doctor of Chiropractic program, teaching courses ranging from Myofascial Therapy and Flexion Distraction Technique to Business & Practice Management and Chiropractic Theories.

Before joining NCHS full-time, he spent 18 years (1997–2015) as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York Chiropractic College. He also advises three student clubs — the Motion Palpation Club, the Gonstead Club, and the Soft Tissue Club — and opens his practice each trimester to 5–6 students for hands-on shadowing experiences.
